"Normal year"?
A client was asking about his maintenance contract, it gets larger every year. We created a list of what we do for the client and it was LONG and gets longer every year! During the meeting, probably thinking about controlling cost, he said "so this new number will cover us in a 'normal year'......" then he trailed off and then said: "When do we have a 'normal year'? Every year has been different!"
Yep, that's the way it goes. In my life, I think there were 2 "normal years" back in my 40s. if there are only 2 out of 50, it doesn't seem very "normal"!!

Olden Days
Sometimes I think back on old days, before my time. When people didn't have eletricity, so it was dark at night. I've been outside on a moon-less night, it's dark! You can't do much in the dark. Fire is OK, but it isn't like a flashlight! It isn't as portable, isn't as bright, can't shine it ON something.
I recently heard someone say that they get great comfort knowing that everybody (EVERYBODY) goes to sleep at night, everybody gets sleep, it is a human standard, something every human experiences.
